“For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, “As I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter My rest,” although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.” Hebrews 4:3.
What is it with people today, choosing what level of Christianity they want to be? While many agree that one must HEAR the message of God (Romans 10:17), BELIEVE that Jesus was sent as God’s plan of salvation (John 8:24), REPENT of your sinful life and wanting to live without sin (Luke 24:47), CONFESS with your heart that Jesus came to give us the chance to live in God’s kingdom (Matthew 10:32-33), and BE BAPTIZED (Mark 16:16). Then what?
First, it is one thing to openly say “I believe…” BUT, did you say it with your heart? Did you ask God to forgive you in your heart? Sometimes, a child says “I’m sorry” to a parent, because they know that they are supposed to say it, but do they mean it inside? How often does it feel that adults do the same thing when it comes to asking God forgiveness? They do it because they are commanded. Do they truly believe it? Do they feel it?
If you have gone through these “steps”, let me ask you this: what are you doing now? Is life the same ol’, same ol’? Life as usual? OR, are you living differently than before? I would challenge that if nothing has changed in your daily “routine”, then we are failing to be what God has asked and commanded of us. All those prior steps are nothing unless we LIVE IT. God gives us a choice, but tells us that there are rules to follow IF we decide to follow Him.
Think about it. How often do we choose to listen to what people say about certain societal issues (especially due to network social media)? Quite a lot! Hey bub, I read what people post and share. However, it seems that people choose NOT to listen to the One that matters…God. What’s wrong? Is the Bible just not snazzy enough for you? Is it not as entertaining? Sit down and read it. There are some fascinating events that happened that Facebook will NEVER be able to top! God speaks to the New Testament Christians and many just aren’t listening. The “bare minimum” just won’t cut it. Live it!
Take a few moments and reflect on your life. Ask yourself, “What am I doing different since I openly confessed my devotion and belief in God and the Savior?” The Lamb willingly went to the sacrificial alter and was slain. The Lion now roars, calling His people. What are you going to do about it? Here is a solution:
